RESEARCH INTERESTS
Relationships between the synthesis, properties and structure/nanostructure of magnetic materials and thin films, including: deposition and characterization of nanostructured magnetic thin films and multilayers; periodic magnetic cluster compounds; extra-ordinary responsive complex materials (e.g. Gd-Si-Ge compounds); magnetoelastic effects and thermal expansion; synchrotron EXAFS characterization of local structure and anisotropy; spin-polarized transport in nanostructured magnetic multilayers; nanocomposite low-anisotropy magnetic thin films; Mossbauer spectroscopy, magnetic properties, and structure of substituted cobalt ferrites; high-anisotropy magnetic oxides and intermetallic powder materials; boron-based materials for neutron sensor applications.
