Characterization of phase transformations in complex rare-earth based materials, solidification microstructures of rapidly solidified Al based alloys, phase transformations in highly alloyed steels, characterization and quantification of tool-marked surfaces for forensic applications, development of web-based scanning electron microscopy resources for education.
